The Oscar-winning actress revealed to People that she adopted a baby boy last January.
Sandra Bullock was seen out shopping with her baby last May in Austin,Texas.
The actress named her newborn son, Louis Bardo Bullock. Louis is three months old. Bullock shares that her baby is named after Louis Armstrong because she heard the singer's "What a Wonderful World" when she first met the baby boy. Sandra and soon to be ex-husband Jesse James began the adoption process four years ago, before becoming parents earlier this year.
Sandra kept everything a secret until after the Oscars. Unfortunately, days after Bullock took home the trophy, James' affairs with different women were revealed on news stands. According to People, the actress is adopting the baby as a single parent and is divorcing her husband.
Bullock said to the magazine, "Yes, I have filed for divorce," and added that she is "sad and scared" about the whole thing.
According to adoption expert, Dr. Elias Lefferman, CEO and President of Vista Del Mar Family Services, Sandra didn't likely receive any star treatment in her adoption of baby Louis. The doctor pointed out that the actress likely would not have had to wait four years if that was the case.
Since baby Louis is African American and Sandra is Caucasian, Dr. Lefferman says that she probably have gone through and will continue to go through training about transracial adoption for her to learn about being sensitive and exploring her son's heritage with him.
James' said that the divorce has left a "huge hole" in his heart especially because Sandra chose to adopt the Louis as a single mom. james told People,
"My whole life has been full of hard decisions. The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart."
